House 8B: Gravesend / 's Gravesande Drawn from Clay: Atelier NL By digging in the ground, Nadine Sterk and Lonny van Ryswyck of Atelier NL discovered the great variety of clay within the Netherlands. With an invitation from Makkink & Bey, the designers stayed in the Noordoostpolder area of central Netherlands and used clay from different plots of soil to create ceramic pieces with a great variety in colour and texture. In this way, each piece of ground received its own identity. For Pioneers of Change they also dig in the grounds of New York. Come see how they make tiles from it. About Atelier NL |
